You have the photo. You know the name. But now the order form is open and the message field is blank, and you are not sure what words are equal to fifteen years of love. This post meets you at that exact moment — with engraving formats, quotes by category, and prompts to help you find your own.
A pet's death is often a child's first encounter with mortality — and how it's handled shapes more than this single loss. This guide covers honest, age-by-age language for toddlers through teenagers, what phrases to avoid, whether to allow children at euthanasia, and practical ways to grieve together.
You found the perfect thing on Etsy. Then you saw the shipping: $25 USD, 3–4 weeks, customs unknown. By the time it arrives, the sharpest moment of your friend's grief will have passed. Here's a tiered guide for Canadian gift-givers — what to give, when to give it, and where to order with no customs surprises.
Your friend just lost their pet, and you don’t know what to say. The holidays have a way of making absence louder. This post is for two people at once: the one grieving a pet this season, looking for gentle ways to include them in the holidays; and the one giving a gift to someone who is. A warm, tiered guide for Canadian buyers — with a reminder to order early.
Grief needs somewhere to go — not a drawer, not a box, but a beautiful, intentional corner of your home where the memory lives. This guide covers everything: how to choose the right location, which elements make a memorial shelf feel like art, and how to tend it as your grief evolves.
You had months to prepare. You said your goodbyes in advance, across hundreds of ordinary evenings. And then the loss came, and it was that size anyway. This post is for everyone who loved a senior pet — who has been quietly grieving before the loss arrived, and who is now carrying the weight of both.
The message usually arrives with a name. Sometimes more — a date, a photo, a few words about who they were. This is what happens next: a behind-the-scenes look at how Coffee & Cookie Design turns a pet’s name and photo into a laser-engraved piece of basswood, in a Calgary basement studio, one piece at a time.
